It was rather blah today. I didn't sleep well, which isn't unusual, but it was worse than normal. My doc's nurse called a few times to figure out the medicine stuff. He never let me know if they called something new into the pharmacy or not, so we may not be finished just yet. But more than the up and down every couple hours dealing with that is that my back is really killing me. I think I slept on it wrong the last few days, and it's caught up with me. I need one of those big inclined pillows instead of just piling up a bunch of smaller ones. Sleeping at an angle sometimes helps with the wooziness stuff, and definitely helps with my breathing. If I'm not positioned just right, I can't breathe out of my nose, which is more than annoying.
I'm doing laundry now, so I guess that'll count as my productivity for today. I really want to cut my hair, too, but now I have to wait until my parents are out of the bathroom. I'm a bit woozy, so hopefully the extra time I have to wait will allow me to feel better. Eating and maybe lying down, along with giving the Meclizine (anti-dizzy med) time to work should help, too. I guess we'll see...if I'm still shaggy and scruffy, it was a no go, and if not, it all worked out :). I guess it's a good thing I took a little nap now that I'll be up longer than I planned.
I mentioned it on Facebook, too, but I'm thinking about selling my sports cards collection. It's not something I really want to do, but it's worth something, and I need the money. I would much rather pass it down to my potential future children or at least to nieces/nephews, but you gotta do what you gotta do. I have no idea what it's worth, but it's looking like selling them online is the way to go. I have about two 20"x10"x10" boxes of them and I'm not looking forward to scanning a bunch of cards. I mostly have football cards, but there are some basketball and baseball cards, too. I haven't messed with them in awhile, but they're mostly in good to fair condition, I think. I'd appreciate any help anyone's willing to give with figuring out how much they're worth and the best way to go about it all. Ideally, I'd like to sell them all together or at least in significant chunks (not one at a time), but I'll do whatever it takes.
All the best to you all, and please get back at me if you can help with the cards. And, too, please let me know if you read this at all, in whatever way you choose. It's nice to know that I'm not just talking to myself (any more than I already do) ;).

Today Was Alright
I was fairly productive today...for me, anyway. I got up at a decent (again, for me) hour and made a couple of calls, one about changing that medicine, the other about setting up an MRI that I'd discussed with my doc before (just checking up on things, nothing to worry about). I wish I'd have done more, but I'm always at least a little happy if I can do one productive thing a day. It's quite sad that it's come to that, but I'll take small victories over none.
My sis-in-law brought 2 of my little ones (nieces and nephews, and in this case, niece and nephew) over for dinner. It's always good to see them. They've already started school, the first year (pre-school) for my youngest nephew. He likes it, which is good, as does his sister, but she's always liked and done well in school. It's cute hearing them talk about it, but I'm just waiting for him to get in trouble...lol. He's a handful.
Aside from the normal messing around online, skimming the web, there wasn't much going on for me other than the aforementioned. I watched the Colts preseason game, which was, well, a preseason game. It was nice to watch some football, though, even if it was sloppy. I taped the Bellator MMA event, which I'll watch here shortly (Bellator is another league, like the UFC, but less established). Oh, I made another friend from the dating site. She seems very cool so far.
So today was okay, all in all. I didn't feel great--a little extra woozy, nothing too bad--but seeing the kids more than made up for that. Plus, I got a little bit done, so I wasn't a complete bum. Hopefully I'll get more done tomorrow. I have some laundry that I need to do, anyway.
Well, that's it for now. Questions/comments/suggestions and overall feedback are always welcome (again, as long as it's not stupid :D). And I'd still appreciate you letting me know that you read this, even if anonymously. Thanks :)

3 in a Row
Today was rather blah. I somehow turned my alarm off so I didn't take my medicine on time. It's not the biggest deal, but now I have to remember to take it at a different time for a couple of days to compensate. I didn't feel great, today. I did decide to stop taking the new medicine, though. My stomach just can't handle it. I still need to call the doc for alternatives. I was hoping to get up and be more productive, but that's how it goes.
I did catch the WEC fights on TV. There were some really good scraps, lots of back and forth action. That was cool. MMA is now my second favorite sport behind football. (The UFC and WEC are leagues for the sport of Mixed Martial Arts, like the NFL is for football...I'll post more about all of that another time in more detail).
I met a couple of gals online from a dating site I'm on. We'll see how that goes. If nothing else, it would seem I've made new friends. It was nice chatting with them for a bit, as well as with a couple of 'established' friends. It's always nice to catch up with people. Without that, I'd be soooo much more disconnected from the world, which I've been in the past, unfortunately. Hit me up anytime, btw, and I'll surely respond if I'm right here. I do try to leave away/auto-response messages when I'm gone, though, and I'll get back to you ASAP :).
Since I didn't have much to write about as far as my day went or any specific news, I was thinking about talking about some random, yet specific topic, but I can't really think of anything, and don't really feel up to it. So that's it for today. I just posted something to keep in the habit. I do hope to be more enlightening/entertaining/informative next time, but no promises ;). If there's anything in particular you want to know or want me to give my take on, just tell me! Suggestions are more than welcome, unless they're stupid. Keep stupid suggestions to yourself :P.
Peace be with you :)

Number 2...
All medicines have side effects. Most of mine list dizziness as a potential one, which is...comforting...lol. It's funny, I take 14 pills a day (including vitamins), plus inhalers, etc., and add to that the as needed stuff. None of my medicine is directly for tumor stuff, though I do have Meclizine for dizziness. It's one of the "as needed" and it doesn't always help. Most of the meds are for asthma/allergies/acid reflux.... The Advair (asthma) messes with my throat and vocal chords, the Rhinocort (allergies/sinusitis) makes my nose bleed (so I take it every few days instead of the prescribed 2x a day), and I can just feel that I have all of these chemicals inside me sometimes. But I do want to be able to breathe--out of my nose--and not feel like my stomach (then lower than stomach later on) is on fire. Oh, and the damn pills keep getting stuck in my throat. Iron pills are the worst...disgusting buggers.
I just got a new prescription last week. I've had cluster headaches (similar to migraines, but different enough) in the past, and I think they've come back to a degree as I've dealt with the stress of still being sick, still being stuck, having SSI denied, getting jerked around by the assholes in Phoenix, etc., etc., bitch, moan, whine...so I mentioned it to my doc and she gave me this new medicine. It seems to be working on the headaches well enough, but I think it's making me a bit dizzier (hard to tell if it's the medicine or just part of the regular deal), but worse is the queasiness. My stomach is already fairly sensitive, but man...this isn't fun (yes, the title of this post doesn't just reference this being my second effort on here ;) ). I'll give it another couple days, but it's not looking good. I'd rather deal with the headaches. I'm no masochist, but I can handle pain. I can't take living in the bathroom, though.
Woohoo, 2 days in a row! There's your TMI for today. I hope this finds you well. At least you're not me...lol...

In whatever way you deem best, I'd appreciate knowing that you read this. Thanks :)

First Post
Well, as you can see, I have a blog now. The goal is post something every day or two, or at least when I feel up to it. I'd imagine a lot of what I write about will be the immense frustrations of being sick and stuck and all the ridiculousness of my situation, but I'll try to mix in other stuff, too. While much of my life is depressing, there are some good (and neutral) bits, too :). Please let me know if there's anything in particular you want me to explicate on, and I'll see what I can do.
Writing about my thoughts and feelings is certainly beneficial to me, but I'm not doing it solely for me. It's more so that you all can understand me a little more and get details of what's going on. Please comment if you have anything specific to say or ask, and it's 100% cool if you do so anonymously. And I would GREATLY appreciate knowing that you stopped by (anonymously if you prefer). I'm still looking into how/if I can see page view stats and all of that. It'd really help me know that people are reading what I'm writing.
Thanks so much,
-B
